Utö ligger ca 16 km nordost om Nynäshamn i Stockholms skärgård som förvaltas av Skärgårdsstiftelsen. På öns norra del ligger Utö Värdshus som har hotell, stugor, restaurang, konferens och-samlingslokaler. Delar av Värdshuset är idag uppvärmda med hjälp av värmepumpar i en värmecentral som tar sin värme från närbelägna vattenfyllda gruvhål. Ventilationen i fastigheterna som används som konferens och samlingslokaler är bristfällig och uppfyller inte dagens standard för konferenslokaler.Syftet med projektet var att undersöka möjligheter och kostnader för att förbättra ventilationen i byggnaderna samt undersöka förslag för att minska energianvändningen. Projektet har genomförts i samarbete med Skärgårdsstiftelsen, Utö Värdshus och med Värmex som bidragit med underlag för värmecentralen.

FPGA-kort är ett bra verktyg för företag som snabbt vill kunna ta fram en prototyp för nya projekt, då de är omprogrammeringsbara så att samma hårdvara kan användas för att göra prototyper till mänger av olika system. Ett vanligt programmeringsspråk för att programmera FPGA-kort är VHDL som är ett hårdvarunära språk. Som ett komplement till VHDL är det väldigt användbart att kunna köra något mer generellt programspråk som till exempel C. Detta går att lösa genom att man använder en NIOS2-kärna i FPGA-kretsen och överför kompilerad C-kod till den från en persondator.Denna rapport kommer att beskriva hur man på ett Altera DE2 FPGA-kort kan implementera olika lösningar för att använda externa gränssnitt till en NIOS2?kärna.

However the ecovillage is no longer considered as environmentally friendly because of its relatively high energy consumption, and non-updated energy system. The purpose of this study is therefore to investigate how Understensho?jden should reduce their energy consumption and upgrade its energy system by using Blower-Door, IR-camera and Design Builder.

In recent centuries the Swedish Tiled Stove has varied in its design with an aesthetic evolutionary history that has not only followed the architectural and artistic ideals but also the taste in stove design. The heat source has varied depending on the regional traditions and where it was located within the country, but the inside of the construction was of a similar five channel system. The purpose of this paper is to study and compare the design of tile matrices made by Emil Petterson with other Swedish stoves. The following questions will be addressed:What characterized the production of a small scale tile stove workroom during the years 1900-50? Which main styles can be described as Emil Pettersson?s ideal while producing his matrices? And finally, is it possible to study the tile stove matrices as objects of historical and cultural significance, and what difficult methodological issues might occur in the doing of it? To answer these questions I will present the results of the documentation of Pettersson?s tile matrices with detailed historical categorizations and schedules. The conclusion shows that Pettersson as a stove builder and -producer was characterized by eclectic ideals and a design shape based on more liberal interpretations of contemporary trends.

Syftet med denna studie var att identifiera problem och behov som byggare i Sverige stöter på i sin vardag samt anordna en workshop där produktutveckling utifrån dessa behov diskuteras, samt hur denna information kan användas i produktutvecklingen. Studien grundar sig i teorier om innovation, behov och kvalitet, behovsidentifiering, innovationsspridning, produktlivscykel och metoden NABC: Need, Approach, Benefit, Competition. Grunden till arbetet är en föreställning att produktanvändare har behov som dem själva inte är medveten om. Genom att utgå från dessa omedvetna behov kan en bättre produkt utformas. Empatisk design (deltagande observation) användes för att kunna upptäcka outtalade behov samt skapa en god förståelse för byggarnas naturliga arbetsmiljö.

NMD 100 is a notes and media dispensing machine, manufactured by De La Rue Ltd, located in Flen, Sweden. The customers, mainly bank offices, have expressed a need for a more comprehensive description of errors occurring from time to time in their machines. In order to acquire a BSc-degree in Computer and Electronics Technology at the University of Linköping I have carried out a diploma work, regarding new computer programs to fulfil the customers? wishes. A case study of professional interaction designers' usage of design materials was conducted. Five interviews were performed in order to gain insight in the systems used by designers, how these work, how they collaborate within them, and what they think of recent research about them. Design studios allow collaboration for several users at once. Digital material (mockups, pictures, etc.) are commonly used, but needs to be made analog, e.g. printed, to be usable in the design studio environment.

Design management är ett arbetssätt som har börjat tillämpas av allt fler företag de senaste åren, men det kan fortfarande vara svårt att förstå betydelsen av design management. I uppsatsen undersöks det vilken betydelse en design managers kompetens och position har för samarbetet mellan det designköpande företaget och en designkonsult under ett designinköp. Genom ett flertal intervjuer, utifrån både design managers och designkonsulters perspektiv, undersöks det hur samarbetet fungerar mellan dessa parter. En analys av intervjumaterial med hjälp av en teoretisk referensram bestående av design management-teori, design som en integrerad process och beslutsrollsteori har lett fram till ett antal slutsatser om design management. Några av slutsatserna är att design management, enligt teorierna, som arbetssätt inte är så vanligt och att det finns en viss samarbetsbrist enligt de intervjuade designkonsulterna, som i viss mån underlättas om design managern har kunskap om vad design innebär..

In our study, we investigated how the streamed TV domain relates to existing design principles for web design. Further, we have investigated whether there are specific characteristics of the domain that the design principles do not cover. In the survey we have studied two sites which are representative of the streamed TV domain.
